" When you do something best in life, you don't really want to give that up - and for me it's tennis. "

- Rodger Federer

My love for tennis was discovered fortuitously. For about a year I used to go to the park with my family and hit around the ball on the court. But after a while, I started getting more interested in the sport.

My hard work paid off and my freshman year of high school I made it on the Downingtown West Junior Varsity team. I got the opportunity to play doubles with many different students and had a blast competing against the different schools. In my sophomore year of high school, I was working hard playing and practicing twice a week, and moved my way up to higher junior varsity. At this point in my tennis career, I switched my training to Level 7 Tennis Company.

My first real experience with tennis was when I was in sixth grade. I signed myself up for an opportunity to practice tennis with the other students in my grade. The program was a camp run by my school and was held every week. I loved going and eventually found my passion for the sport.

Moving into 11th grade (my junior year) I worked hard to make it onto the Varsity team. When Covid-19 hit we were not even sure if we were going to have a tennis season. However, that did not stop me from training hard to achieve my goal of getting my Varsity letter. Downingtown West did end up having a tennis season even though it was very short but we still did really well as a team overall.

Last year I participated in multiple Winter Clinics, USTA teams and continued with my private lessons. I have also been assisting teach younger tennis players throughout the spring weekends and Summer week-long camps. In the fall of 2021 I played first varsity doubles helping my team place second in the district.  I aldo placed fourth in the Varsity Chestmont tounrament and am hopibg to make it to districts! I have come a long way in my tennis journey and am excited to see where I go next and work hard to improve my skills to the best of my ability.

As I got more interested in tennis I started practicing more often during the week. I began taking private lessons with a tennis pro at the YMCA tennis courts. I trained hard for my goal to make the high school tennis team.

Finishing off the tennis season of my sophomore year my school tennis coach entered me in a Junior Varsity Tennis Tournament. I played doubles with my sister and ended up coming 4th out of 32 teams across the Chester County District.
